Fix “LoadLibrary failed with error 1114” When Launching an App on Windows

If you encounter the following error when launching software:

LoadLibrary failed with error 1114: A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed

This error is typically caused by your system’s power settings disabling certain GPU features, especially on laptops with switchable graphics.

How to Fix:

1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options
2. Click Change plan settings next to your current power plan
3. Click Change advanced power settings
4. In the popup window, expand Switchable Dynamic Graphics
5. Set Global Setting to High Performance
6. Apply changes and relaunch the software
